Brian 'Buzz' Griffiths

Has been at Ruthin since he moved from Denbigh many years ago. Managed the 1st team from Nov 2006 to Jan 2008. Stylish defender had trials with Everton(lifelong supporter) and Shrewsbury as a youngster. Played for Ruthin for too long to mention.   

First team manager

Adie Jones

Took the position on in Jan 2008. Has a great perigree in the Cymru Alliance gaining promotion to the Welsh Premier with Caernarfon and Llangefni. Great personality with extensive knowledge of the game and excellent contacts. Was a very good centre forward in his playing days.    

Tony “Sarge” Jones – Assistant Manager. Has been involved with the club for a number of years, including a stint as our Reserve Team Manager. Popular figure at the club and has an excellent knowledge of the game.
        
Gary Davies – another former player who has returned to the club this season to assist with the first team. Demands everything from his players and again provides sound advice based on extensive experience.

Goalkeeper
Simon Williams (24)

Excellent all round keeper has gained Welsh Premier experience with Airbus and Llangefni. Agile, great shot stopper, good all rounder who ensures his fellow defenders know exactly what he expects of them.

Martin Dyer(41)

Martin has reestablished his goalkeeping career from last season following his retiring from football at 25 when he was a well established Ruthin first team keeper.
Big strong and brave he is an excellent organiser of defences, he has also taken on the role of goalkeeping coach at Ruthin he trains the senior keepers on Tuesdays and Tursdays and also coaches the youth keepers on Wednesday evenings. His enthusiasm is second to none.

Llyr Williams (26) – goalkeeper. Has played for every team at the club. Has good handling and an excellent shot stopper.

 Dafydd Jones (25) – full back Daf has an excellent attitude to match his undoubted ability. Has found his position at right back were he was in excellent form this season, and was deservedly awarded Managers Player of the Season. Very quick and skilful right back who adds a significant attacking element to the team. 

 Aled Roberts – (25) defender / midfielder Another player with an excellent attitude Aled will run through brick walls for his team mates – had a new lease of life since moving into left back from midfield. Gives 100% effort in every game, his defending is very strong, his distribution is improving and very strong in the air.

 Rob Render – (24) defender. Never misses training and is a 100% genuine lad. His attitude this season has been excellent, Rob is young and has bags of improvement to come, he listens to advice and is improving on a weekly basis. An important member of our squad.

Sion T Roberts – (28) Came back at the end of last season following a nightmare 4 year out and promptly broke a metatarsel. Is back as string as ever this season. He can play upfront or recently centre back he is big, strong, quick and has a good touch. He is a natural leader and will be one of Ruthins key players this season.

Mike Garrod – (20). Recent signing from Upton AA(Jan 08). Mike is a quick, skilfull and very alert player, is very versatile and can play in most out field positions. 

Ben Collins – (20). Recent signing from Christleton FC (Jan 08). Ben is a very stylish left footed player who can play full back or wide midfield excellent in the air, has a very good touch and can also mix it when necessary. Ben is never quiet both on and off the pitch!!!  Pingu's Pancakes

Mike 'Robbo' Robinson – (19). Robbo is a recent signing from Upton AA(Jan 08). Robbo looks a natural centre midfielder he has a great 'engine' is very composed on the ball and gets in were it hurts. He plays the game with an air of somebody much older than his 19 years,  

Ilya Haycock – (20). Ilya is a versatile player who can play across the back four or in midfield. he is a striog tackler, uses the ball well and has a very competitive edge when needed. 

 Mark “Chisel” Entwhistle –(26)  midfielder. Loyal first team captain and natural born leader Last seasons player of the year(06-07). Inspires other players around him with his will to win and tremendous work ethic. Currently away travelling.

 Liam Jones – midfielder. (20) Former Shrewsbury Youth player - Quality midfield player both in the middle and wide. Great energy, excellent touch, good distribution and set piece expert. Also has a good strike rate from midfield.

 Wil Roberts – (19) midfielder / defender. Welsh Schoolboy international. Has good pace and right foot to match. Excellent on the ball, quick, skilful and strong and contributes significantly to the team. He has a vast amount of improvement to come and being 19 has the time to become a very good player.   

Matthew “Chopper” Davies – (22)  midfielder.  Excellent ball player, is at his best in forward midfield role requiring high skill, ball retention and vision. Scores his fair share of goals from midfield, dead ball specialist.

Si Hulse - (24) midfielder/forward. Si has finally decided its time to join his home town club. He has a wealth of experience and has slotted back into the squad very well in pre season. Very pacy and skillful he has a great eye for goal and will do well for us this season. 

Jac “Fozzie” Williams – another of last years U16 players. Attacking player with good pace and dribbling ability.

Kevin Breeze - (29) midfielder/forward. Breezy has been with a number of high profile clubs over the years he brings vast experience. Quick, skillful excellent distribution and also chips in with a number of goals every season.

Gwydion Ifan – had an excellent season with Ruthin U16s last season and also broke into the first team. Has a good eye for goal and has impressed during pre-season.

Garmon Hafal – (18) midfielder. Excellent prospect who has come through our youth system. Great runner with the ball who knows where the back of the net is. Has a great team ethic and is not afraid to put his foot in for the cause. Highly thought of and has a big future at the club.

Garmon Rhys – (17) defender/midfielder. Just 16 this summer. Another excellent prospect who has a sweet left foot. Has impressed with his excellent touch, control and passing. Has been with Wrexhan and is destined to do well in the game.

  Tryfan Prosser - (27) Striker. Returned to the club this season and has experience of playing for a number of clubs, including Llangefni and Brymbo. Very strong centre forward who holds the ball up well and brings other players into play.   

Lennox Beddows – (21) striker. Lennox is a true poacher he is extremely dangerous in the penalty area. He has great close control and turns defenders easily will score a good number of goals this season.

Ruthin Reserves / Colts Player Profiles 

Richard Parry - young keeper with a big future in the game who has come through the ranks of Ruthin’s very successful youth sytem.  

Iolo Davies - a very popular lad at the club since moving to the area from Nefyn three years ago. Very good shotstopper who continues to improve. 

Bobby Jones - returned to the club this season. One of a group of talented young keepers at the club. 

Llyr Williams – experienced keeper who has played for all three senior teams at Ruthin.  

Dewi Jones – diminutive right back with great enthusiasm for the game. Has played at Cymru Alliance level for the club and was a key figure in our U19s side last season. 

Justin Harden – solid all round defender who has the ability to inspire those around him. Welcome addition to the club this season. 

Jason Williams – Jason came to our attention playing for Rhos Aelwyd U16's last season, tall, quick, good on the ball and very good in the air he has bags of potential and has joined the first team squad on a few occassions already this season. Has fitted in well since arriving in the Summer and has given some impressive performances during pre-season. 

Rob Lewis – a committed left back whose progress last season was held back following serious injury. Has done well during pre-season. 

Sam Griffiths – athletic player who can play across the midfield. Has had first team experience. 

Sam Cartwright – very talented left-sided player who broke into the first team during his debut season last term. Has the potential to be a top player. 

Sion Davies – had an excellent season for the Colts last season. Has excellent delivery. 

Tom Daulby – his return from University to the area is a big boost for the Club. Had good technical ability and can play in midfield and in attack. 

Elgan Hughes – attacking player who can be a handful for opposition defences on his day. 

Stuart Drake – has performed well during pre-season and has impressed everybody with his ability, fitness and excellent attitude.  

Dion Jones – another product of the successful Ruthin U!6s side. Excellent passer of the ball and dead ball expert. 

Dave MaCarter – strong and skilful midfielder who has had Cymru Alliance experience with Llandyrnog and Ruthin.
